We have a FLOOR!!!
I'll be posting pictures tomorrow, as they aren't uploaded yet. :) We have the most BEAUTIFUL floor ever to have ever been poured! BAR NONE! PRAISE THE LORD AND PASS THE AMMUNITION!!! :) OK so I'm happy over grey hard mud, with sand, rock and Portland in it. What can I say... I'm odd.
The framers will be coming Monday at 7:30. Egads... why do people feel the need to get up so early. As you can tell I'm not a morning person. ANYWAY soon we'll have a back wall and if all goes well the house will be rolled on and set. Then comes the HVAC, stairway, back-fill, and so forth and so on. It's been a week y'all. I'm glad it's come to an end.

Plumbing and Gravel and Concrete... OH MY!
The latest on the construction front. We now have plumbing, gravel, and more concrete. As you can see by the pics we have more than that 4" recommended for the gravel. Clean 1" NOT road rock... it's amazing how one can be so thrilled over good clean gravel. It's about 18" or maybe alittle less. We can hardly wait for the floor to be poured.

Sorry
Sorry for the out of order photo collages. I finally have some time to mess around with the Picasa software and I'm going about it in reverse it seems. Oh well some of the photos have already been posted. I just can't post the more than 100 I have on various camera's.
New photo's coming soon! The weather has put a damper on getting the floor poured, crossing finger's, toes, and eyes that it will be tomorrow.

Random...
Above are the pictures from last weeks construction. And a cute baby bovine thrown in for good measure! :) It's amazing the difference between good construction and bad. I know I don't know it all, after all I was reminded of this again on Thursday by a kind person who in his words "didn't mean to insult my intelligence BUT". However to my credit I did know what he was concerned over. I may look dumb, but there is a brain in this thick head of mine.
Anyway enjoy the pictures. It's even better in person! :) Thrilled is beyond what we can even think or say.

Notice anything Different? Or Good vs Bad
North view down in the former "pond"as we are now calling it.
I couldn't find the pictures I was wanting to find. I believe I took them with my old 35mm so the disc they are on is well where ever I last left it.
However can any one notice the differences between L's excavation and Jerrett's? Other than Jerrett's is a larger hole because of the over excavation which we didn't know happened until after the fact. Jerretts have actually excavated the sight so it will DRAIN. Granted there are a few puddles but it's not 6-8" of standing water in side the forms after the footings were poured. OK to make myself clear the water was standing inside the forms making a small lake inside where the floor had to be poured and on the outside of the forms. What a mess.

To tired... & A whole lot of hole
I was to tired to post last night and we had company. Anyway I'll post pictures later on today. Here's the update.
More excavation had to be done yesterday to get the hole ready for the up coming rain and potential flooding that was to happen last night. People... we have a whole lot of hole out there. We hit rock on the North East corner and it will have to be hammered out. It wasn't shale as we were told the first go around with our former GC.
So the concrete guys will now have to wait until things dry out and Jerrett's can get the hammer in to get out the rock. God Bless America. Please pray that things dry out quickly. That's all folks... Pictures to be posted later on when more time allows.

And the walls
Finally after days, weeks, months, over a YEAR of waiting. The re-excavation and demo has begun! Oh Happy DAYS oh HAPPY DAAAAAAAYYYYSSSSS!!! It's funny how the "guys" didn't want to be in any of the pictures I'm taking. I thought there would be a great CRASH when the wall came down. NOT so... it was a thud.. that's it NO fan fair. Just thud... Oh well...
The concrete guys have already came and brought the forms SO we are ready to go for tomorrow. To start hopefully pouring the foundation. It's been a good end of the week. :)

Yet again...
We are GOOD to GO! I've called the excavator's and they I think are even relieved. So hopefully we will be seeing the them with in the next few days. Depending on the weather which is going to be COLD. However not as cold or as bad as in New York! They are getting hit with both cold and more snow. I'm SO thrilled we aren't having snow with our cold.
Hopefully more updates to come!

Someday Sometime
I will have news to post about demoing and the pouring of concrete. However not this week. The excavator has shown up but will be leaving and coming back next week.
As all of you know who have been keeping up with all of this. We are in a lawsuit against our former contractor. Well his attorney has now decided after having the case for more than 6 months that she wants to come and inspect the old basement. So we are letting her. After all we have never had anything to hid. And now she can't say she didn't have the chance to see it in person or have time to find her own engineer.
Hopefully the basement will be torn down by next Thursday and we'll be pouring by the following week.
